Day One: Meandering Through the Area

Hi chickadees! It was my first day here in Taipei and I couldn't be having any more fun! Just looking out my window and hearing the commotion outside just makes me so excited!

I Have Arrived!!!

Hey chickadees!!! I have arrived in Taipei and even the first couple of hours have been so eventful! I arrived at my house around 10 PM Taiwan time and already experienced so much! My first meal consisted of oyster pancakes and radish cakes! So good! What I loved was that I was able to eat my favorite food! Wax apples! 

Luckily I didn't experience much jet lag and was able to sleep at 2 AM and woke up at 8:30. I am so excited for my trip and how that this thrill does not die down. Will make another post very soon on my first day in Taipei!

The Time is Here!

I'm packed up and all ready to go! I can't believe that tomorrow I will be getting on the flight that will start my newest adventure. It as sad saying goodbye to my dog and all my family members, quite tearful ones too, but I will see them soon.

Thank God we live in a time where seeing someone is just a facetime away! My suitcase is all packed and full as is my carry-on! I didn't have enough space in my luggage so I had to remove a lot of stuff! So sad! Thankfully I can shop to my heart's content while I am in Taiwan so there the plus. 

Tomorrow for the flight I'm just going to wear something comfortable, simple and quite hobo-ish. It consists of a long t-shirt and leggings that I bough at 99 cent store (gasp!) as well as a deep teal cardigan from my workplace and finally my beloved cheetah print jacket. Just in case the flight is cold and I don't like to use airline blankets.

My flight is at 2:30 PM tomorrow and I will arrive in Taiwan on February 3rd around 10 PM-ish. Most of the time I will probably sleep but just in case I don't, I brought entertainment in the shape of my Ipad Mini!

I most likely will not be wearing makeup but I will definitely try her tips on the facial mask and the moisturizing!

Booked!

Sorry for not updating lately but with Christmas and New Years, my life has been pretty hectic. It doesn't help that I have a really bad fever right now that leaves me unable to move. However, I just booked my trip and everything is on its way!

I will leaving February 2 and returning April 27! 

Can't wait but also going to miss my family and my dog but this is such a huge step for me and hopefully my career. Just hope that I get better soon so I'm able to do the things I want to accomplish before I leave for my trip.

Dali Street, Monga Garment Area (艋舺大理服飾商圈)

As I was asking around for good fashion places to visit, Dali street came into the conversation. During my research I couldn't find information on just this street but more around the surrounding district. I've gotten information on the Wanhua shopping district (萬華商圈) and the Monjia/Mengjia/Monga shopping district. (Spelling varied on the sites I visited.)

4Mano Caffe

Found another food place that I absolutely must go! 4Mano Caffe is this little cute cafe that has delicious looking waffles as well as modern decor, apposed to the more kawaii looks that have become popular. Again why I must go is not for the food but for its mascot. Similar to how Ah Mao Risotto has a golden retriever mascot, 4Mano has a husky.

Street Fashion Question!

Hi guys! I was wondering what kind of street fashion could be seen in Taipei? Most of the research I'm doing has just listed that it's either very Japanese or Western inspired.
