Day One: Meandering Through the Area

Hi chickadees! It was my first day here in Taipei and I couldn't be having any more fun! Just looking out my window and hearing the commotion outside just makes me so excited!

I am currently staying at my grandma's house in Ximending. Below us is our shoe store, called Kiss Me, and one of the oldest shops here in the area! If you guys are ever here be sure to check us out! I really do love the styles that we have and also the large assortment of styles!

This morning I woke up around 8:30 AM, which is good because it doesn't seem like jet lag is affecting me! During the whole morning until about 1 PM, I was facetiming my family and some of my close friends. Around 2-ish I decided to wander around the area. While Ximending is known for its nightlife, it is still pretty active during the day! Keep in mind that it is only Wednesday here and there was still a good amount of people walking around.

There are so many cute things here! Some of these stores just has the cutest clothes or the most delicious looking desserts! I was so tempted to empty out my wallet that afternoon, haha. I did manage to sneak a peak of Ah Mao Risotto and found out that they have TWO cafes. Which means more dogs!

Not everything was hunky dory though. I did manage to fall down a couple steps of stairs. The stairs here in Taiwan are really narrow and very steep. Completely different to stairs that I'm used to in LA! I'm fine but have a giant bruise on my lower back. But on the bright side my outfit was super cute! I wore a little flower print blazer over a shirt I got at the thrift store. Bottom was a pair of red plaid leggings and plaid shorts over. My awesome boots topped it off! This is how I usually dressed back at home and it was so different to what everybody else was dressing.

In the end I didn't go out at night because of the fall. Originally I was going to explore the night life a little but decided to stay in. I still have three months to explore more! I did manage to get my stinky tofu and I couldn't be happier! The guy making it was super cute too, so that's a plus. Apparently he cooks in front of our house every night...I'm probably going to get more tonight. Haha.

Today I'm going to go out with my friend to explore so expect another post soon! I am so excited to what this city can offer me!

See you soon!
